I’ve got a seemingly congenital urge to jabber about my kind of pornography: Politics. Film. Writings. Media, generally. Pop cultural trends.

I’ve been encouraged to start a blog before. But I always resisted the urge: it struck me as sort of self-regarding and self-promoting. Besides, the word “blog” always sounded like something one does at the final stage of a possibly messy biological function — so better kept private.Then I remembered that much smarter humans take blogs in public. Also remembered that writing itself is a rather self-regarding act.

So, I decided to take a blog, too.
